There's plenty to think about from dealing with technology, to self-advocacy or learning about deaf culture.
Each young person's experience is unique. It's important that teachers and adults in their life can support them as they discover more about themselves and the world around them.
DEAFgain's Deaf Identity Chat Cards have been designed to support relaxed spoken or signed conversations that help identify where a young person feels confident and choose what they would like to explore. Indeed, this time, the young people are in charge...not the adults!
*we use the term 'deaf' to refer to all levels of deafness.
